I am Khorii Tinson (she/her/hers), roots from Atlanta, Georgia, currently located in Tallahassee, Florida. I am in my third and final year to receive my Master’s of Fine Arts in Dance from Florida State University, class of 2026. I have my Bachelor's of Fine Arts degree in Dance Performance and Choreography from The University of Texas at Austin, conferred May of 2020. During my time at UT, I worked with and performed in pieces by renowned artists such as Rennie Harris, Charles O. Anderson, Jawole Zollar, Baye and Asa, Gesel Mason, Jenn Freeman, Courtney Mazeika, and many others.

Most recent choreography and performance credits come from my MFA Thesis “D.R.O.N.E”, which premiered March 6 and 7th at Florida State University. As well as “Ghetto Birds”, which premiered at The 2025 ACDA Southeast Regionals Conference in March in Charleston, SC, and has been selected for The 2025 ACDA Nationals Conference in Washington, DC, performing May 3rd at The Gonda Theatre.

I am currently a Fulbright Scholar Semi-Finalist to study and work in Saint Lucia.

I believe in using dance as an archive for history, through the body. I have always created work that was bigger than myself, about current conversations and social issues. My thesis for my Master’s Degree was about resistance, and what that looks like in the body. I am passionate about social justice, and I believe in our natural tendency to fight for our self determination and liberation, which is something humans have done for millions of years. I believe in rejecting all notions of white supremacy and it’s vines, I believe nobody is free until everyone is free.

Free Sudan, Free Congo, Free Palestine, Free Haiti, Free the Uyghurs, free everyone from the violent ruling powers of the world. Insha’Allah.
